Snippets of October
October! Felt fast, but we did so many odds and ends of things. The weather was MY DREAM. Still 70-80 but cool and crisp in the evenings.
Here are some random photos from the month.
Paige and Nick got married!
Which meant there were some amazing out of town friends in Des Moines.
Three of our friends ran the Des Moines Marathon! We spent half of a day with coffee chasing them around town to cheer super loud! Check out Zach's photos.
We spent a lot of time inside this month. Relaxing, cleaning, cooking, and Zach worked on his website and played with his new camera a ton.
But we also had a lot of friends stay with us or come over to hang!
Alsooooooo! Hot toddy's are back to Apt 4.
I spent a ton of time outside! I ran outside a few times a week, took walks with friends, hiked with my sister, and everything else.
I took care of my friends/chickens last weekend! We bonded even further.
Oh my gosh. Zach shaved off alllllll facial hair in prep for No Shave November. This was step 2 of 4.......
I spent an afternoon with my mom and grandparents! We sat for hours here and talked about family, our lives, and their past. It was amazing to get to look through albums from the 40s and watch their lives go forward in photographs.
These two and their life story have encouraged and inspired Zach and I this last year of marriage. :)
AND THEN IT WAS HALLOWEEN.
I have pulled out this costume on command for the last 6 years. This year was no different.
I decided to hand out candy this year! I wasn't sure if many kids came through Sherman Hill. So here was me. Bundled up, beer in hand, cozy and waiting.....
And waiting....
But then they finally came in PACKS. I got to hang with the neighbors and it was perfect.
We ended the weekend with Halloween :) A good old classic.
HAPPY NOVEMBER from a warm cozy apartment (if I get my way)...
