Sharing experiences both far away and right at home

Spring Chickens

Spring Chickens

I have had some serious day dreams of warm summer days. Pools, bike rides, walks, ice cream, patios, and sweat. Everything. I'm ready for it. I want to put away all of my sweaters and pack away the layers of things we have in our apartment.

Saturday was a high of 61!!! It was a little glimpse of my summer dreams.

Friday I said hey to the neighborhood chickens and picked up some eggs.

Saturday morning, Zach and I slept in and then went on a tiny baby run at Water Works. It was amazing outside- at 9:30 am, already so good.

Post run satisfaction. This is my sleepy I want some coffee still even though we ran face.

We stopped at Gateway on the way back and created the biggest and fullest brunch of all the best brunches.

We sat on our porch and drank coffee for a good long peaceful hour before we decided to do anything else.

We ran some errands, windows down, new Macklemore album.

We joined our friends for the first patio beer of the season at El Bait!  It was packed and awesome. The people of Des Moines show uppppp on nice days in the middle of not nice months.

We grabbed a little burger and sodie at BBops and sat in the car with alllll the windows down :)

The night ended with a movie and wine. How much more summer can this get?

After church on Sunday, it was a bit colder and wayyyyy breezier. I spent some time repotting some plants out on the porch!

I opted for making more coffee and reading Kinfolk over taking a nap. It was like perfect Sunday nap weather, but then you get that weird weird feeling after you wake up.

Especially on Sunday, when the last few hours of awake time are the last few hours of free time for the week.

I popped over to Nadia's apartment and sat here with Delaney. We drank Thai tea and watched the sun go down.

Here's to Monday's that aren't just Monday's. They are Monday's after a weekend of summer foreshadowing.

Pleasant Street looks good in the sunshine.
