The Days
Two of the kindest and most generous people got married last weekend!
I had the pleasure of living with Lauren for a year and watched her creative business blossom.
Austin, also being a creative freelance, molded into her wild schedule well :)
It was no doubt that as simple or as extravagant as they wanted to make their wedding, it was going to be gorgeous and full of love and personal touches.
Wednesday, we had a cute bachelorette party at their studio! Gifts, popcorn bar, champagne and The Swan Princess projected on the screen.
That's maybe my dream Bachlorette party. The Swan Princess on a recorded VHS was my life for ages 4-5.
Thursday, I headed to the rehearsal. Their wedding site was in a cow pasture outside of Des Moines. You seriously drive down a long driveway alongside the train track, past this century old farmhouse, through some cow feeding pens, and walk down the hill to the site.
They welcomed friends and family from everywhere in the Midwest to Europe.
I have never been to the Historical Building (nor the Science Center). But it was super cool!! Cafe Barratta's is up on the third floor. We had some really really great salmon and pork and got to meet people that we wouldn't have otherwise ever have known. The couple that own the land and said century old farmhouse. They were great and talked about their chickens and the weather and stories of living on the land.
We sadly had to leave the rooftop party fairly quickly due to my weird stomach ache. All was well the next day!
After work on Friday, we packed up the car and headed out.
We took our old pal Mary to the wedding with us! I am terribly glad she came, the florist caught us as she was leaving and asked if we could help decorate the food table. Although Zach and I were there to host and to help out in any way, I had no clue what that meant.
Mary is a total boss and made all the desserts at this wedding (and our wedding) as well as works as a baker/food stylist at a local magazine! Gold mine.

Very Lauren. Very Austin.
The food was perfect. A post dinner menu of tacos from Moar Tacos. A cheese bar from The Cheese Shop. Mary made the cupcakes and tarts. Austin's relatives brought homemade bars and cookies.
Lauren is obsessed with Coke. Even better if it's in a glass bottle. To balance it out, they had boxed water. Cute :)
We got everyone lined up and off they went into the pasture to this beautiful song.
What a babe.
Everyone meandered over and the cute kids immediately broke in the dance floor.
The evening was beautiful! The sun went down and the speeches and dancing went on.
These two are incredibly gracious and cried every day of their wedding week in awe of how much their friends and family helped them and made them feel treasured.
Zach and I got to meet a ton of great people and squeal in excitement at old friends from far away. That's a beautiful thing about weddings, it's all of these great people with great memories in one space.
We love you two! AND WE GET TO BE NEIGHBORS WHEN YOU ARE HOME FROM YOUR HONEYMOON!
Heres to winter nights drinking hot toddys together and not leaving the building!
